We’re thrilled to share some big news: Common AREA has been awarded a project grant from 4Culture to turn our little firetruck into a Mobile Bookstore! Starting in Spring 2026 and rolling into the summer, we’ll be hitting the road to teach free and low cost workshops in bookmaking, zines, and print arts. This project will allow us to bring hands on creative classes to neighborhoods across Seattle and share a growing collection of independently published work from local artists. And yes, we’re already dreaming of a special Mobile Bookstore pop up at Short Run so keep your peepers peeping! We’re so grateful to 4Culture for supporting this next chapter and to all of you who have cheered us on along the way. We can’t wait to get this truck rolling and share the joy of print with more folks than ever. See you out there!

IN COLLABORATION ART SHOW A collaborative show featuring the work of three artists and friends, Misha Gerner, Rowan Eriksson, and Alexandra Strenfel. HOW TO REBUILD AMERICAN DEMOCRACY Start your 4th of July weekend at Common Objects with a book reading and film viewing, followed by a discussion about How to Rebuild American Democracy with two local artists! Local author Zane Gustafson's Polemic for Democracy is a proposal for constitutional reforms designed to break the two-party system and reverse ongoing authoritarian backsliding.
