Hello artists and birders!

We are putting together a Common Objects show for spring 2026 called Imaginary Birds. Participating artists are invited to dream up an amazing bird (or collection of birds) and bring it to life with the medium of their choosing. Imaginary birds are encouraged (the more whimsical the better) but they can also be inspired by real-life birds. Accepted formats include sculpture, 2D art, and video. We are also open to performance or other mediums upon review. 

Submission: Submissions are now open! Please submit a brief 3-4 sentence summary of your bird-concept and a link to your portfolio, Instagram, or a few images of past relevant work. Our goal is to include as many people as possible, but we do have limited space, so let your creativity fly and send us your best idea! Submissions close September 5th at noon.

Show: The Imaginary Birds opening night reception will be Friday, March 13th 2026. It will coincide with Belltown Artwalk, so people will surely flock there. There will be bird themed drinks and lots of fun.
