Common Objects Bookstore

We provide a platform for independent writers, artists, and creators to share their work in a welcoming environment where everyone is invited to gather, connect, and discover.

Our focus is on amplifying voices and publications that may not have other outlets, fostering a culture of creativity, generosity, and joy.

Shop the bookstore

In-person shopping is available during events at Common Objects and other community events such as the Belltown Art Walk.

Proceeds from COB support the bookstore and the broader Common Area Maintenance mission to cultivate an inclusive and affordable creative community.

  • COB uses a sliding scale consignment model to keep the bookstore accessible to artists with different socioeconomic needs, while ensuring the space itself can remain open, affordable, and publicly available. All funds retained by COB go directly toward operating costs and supporting free and low cost public programming, including exhibitions, readings, workshops, and community events.

  • COB will carry items on consignment for 1 year, after which time, either party may elect to end the Consignment Agreement.

  • A sample consignment agreement is available for download. The official agreement is provided once your submission application has been accepted.
