Common Objects Bookstore

We provide a platform for independent writers, artists, and creators to share their work in a welcoming environment where everyone is invited to gather, connect, and discover.

Our focus is on amplifying voices and publications that may not have other outlets, fostering a culture of creativity, generosity, and joy. While we prioritize WA (local) artists, everyone is welcome to submit!

Shop the bookstore

In-person shopping is available Wednesday through Friday 3pm-6pm, Saturday 9am-3pm, and during events at Common Objects and other community events such as the Belltown Art Walk.

Proceeds from COB support the bookstore and the broader Common Area Maintenance mission to cultivate an inclusive and affordable creative community.

Check out the Mobile Bookstore!

Common Area Maintenance attends various events and festivals throughout the year with our Mobile Bookstore - a Japanese firetruck transformed into a mini bookstore on wheels! Check out where we’re headed to next at our Upcoming Events page.

When you submit to the bookstore, your work will be considered for placement in the Mobile Bookstore at CAM’s discretion depending on festival theme, storage limits, etc.

Summer Zine Bingo is here!

Get your summer zine bingo card at Common Objects Bookstore or download here

Track zines read between 5/27/26 and 9/9/26 by writing the titles in the appropriate squares (one square per title, please!)

When you’re done, flip the bingo card over and turn your raffle card into a souvenir summer reading zine!

If you get a bingo (5 squares in a row vertically, horizontally, or diagonally), bring your card to Common Objects by 6pm on 9/9 to enter our prize drawing (one entry per person)!!

You get to keep your card and the cool zine you’re about to make with it
